Got Questions? We’ve Got Answers

Yes, it does! Getting a Class A license with a manual transmission endorsement can really boost your job options in Canada. It allows you to drive both manual and automatic trucks, making you more versatile and appealing to employers. Many trucking companies, especially in areas like logging or construction, still use manual vehicles. This skill can give you a big advantage and open up more job opportunities.

In addition to your AZ license, these certifications can make you a stronger candidate:

  • Air Brake Endorsement (Z): A must-have for most commercial vehicles.
  • WHMIS Certification: To safely handle workplace materials.
  • Load Securement Training: For safe and efficient cargo transport.
  • Forklift Operation Certification: Useful for jobs requiring loading and unloading.
  • Professional Driving Improvement Course: Many insurance providers offer reduced premiums to drivers who complete the PDIC.

Definitely! There are lots of options, like provincial grants, financing plans that can go up to five years, and even in-program installment plans. If you’re interested, reach out to us, and we’ll help you figure out what you qualify for.

Not necessarily. While employers do prefer experienced drivers, there’s a big shortage of truck drivers in Canada, and that means opportunities for new drivers too! The key is to get high-quality training and pick up extra certifications or skills to make yourself stand out.

The price difference usually comes down to the quality of the training. Some schools cut corners by hiring unqualified instructors, reducing private lessons, overbooking classes, or relying on pre-recorded online lessons. These shortcuts might save money, but they often leave students underprepared and struggling to pass their tests. Investing in a good school means you’ll be better prepared, pass your road test faster, and feel confident on the job.

Look for programs that offer:

  • Skilled, experienced trainers.
  • Plenty of one-on-one lessons.
  • A clear plan that tracks your progress.
  • Training that goes beyond just passing the road test to prepare you for real work.

We’ve got your back! At Canada Trust Driving School, we work with industry partners to make sure our students find jobs quickly after graduating. We offer:

  • Pre-employment road test practice.
  • Help with resumes and paperwork.
  • Job referrals (when available).

Yes, you can! If you’re not able to travel to the U.S. with your passport, focus on standing out in the Canadian market. Learning in-demand skills, like driving manual transmission trucks, can make a big difference in getting hired.

Absolutely! The trucking industry is becoming more welcoming and inclusive. With technology making trucks easier to handle, more women are joining the field than ever before. Whether you want to drive solo or team up with a partner, now’s a great time for women to hit the road and build a trucking career!

The salary for truck drivers in Ontario varies depending on experience, the type of trucking job, and whether it involves local, regional, or cross-border hauls. On average, new drivers can expect to earn between $45,000 and $60,000 annually, while experienced long-haul drivers can earn upwards of $80,000 or more. Some specialized roles, like those in construction or hazardous materials transport, offer even higher pay.
