DZ License Training


Class D truck training programs

A Class D licence lets you drive:

  • a truck with a gross weight or registered gross weight of more than 11,000 kg (24,000 lbs)
  • any truck or truck and towed vehicle combination of more than 11,000 kg (24,000 lbs) gross weight or registered gross weight, provided the towed vehicle is not over 4,600 kg (10,000 lbs). If the towed vehicle weighs more than 4,600 kg, you will need either a full Class A or restricted Class A licence.

With a Class D licence, you can also drive a car or light truck covered by a G Class licence.

Our Packages

Class D License Preparation: $1200 + HST

This package is designed for the applicants who are interested to prepare for the road test cost effectively and in a short amount of time. It includes:

8 Hours of individual training on the vehicle

-Rent of the vehicle for the road test

-Road test booking 

-Air Brake Endorsement course (Z) is optional: $300 + HST

DZ Ministry approved program: $3777

This program is designed for complete training and preparation of the applicant for entering the work force. The program offers a wide variety of skill trainings and certificates that makes the applicant a competitive applicant for employers. It includes:

-8 Hours of automatic transmission training

-6 Hours of manual transmission training 

2 times providing vehicle for the road test and booking

-Training on truck simulator

7 Certificates by the end of program

The certificates included are: Air Brake Endorsement, Air Brake Adjustment, Transportation of Dangerous Goods, Hours of Service, Border Crossing, Defensive Driving Course, and Class D Diploma.


Theoretical Courses

Air Brake Endorsement Course “Z”

This course is designed to provide students with a complete and thorough knowledge of the air brake system. The student will be able to identify all of the air brake components and ensure they are in proper working order. It is mandatory for the operator of an air brake equipped vehicle to have a “Z” endorsement in their license.

Acquired Certificate
  • Air Brake Endorsement Certificate from the Ontario Safety League.

In-vehicle training provides the student with hands on practical learning in the environment to which they will operate on a daily basis. Course content will introduce the student to large vehicles and the practical applications involved in the safe operation of a commercial motor vehicle. Persons with an Ontario Class DZ license are licensed to drive a straight truck, dump truck, cement truck, garbage truck and fire trucks.
